Tuttosport: Chances of Faivre’s arrival in January drop as Milan focus on other targets

By Oliver Fisher -

The chances of AC Milan signing Romain Faivre during the January transfer window have dropped significantly, according to a report.

Faivre was heavily linked with a move to Milan over the summer and he tried to force it through by not showing up for an away game. He caused a stir by giving an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier in the week where he revealed that he is charmed by Paolo Maldini’s phone call and dropped a strong hint that he is gearing up for the move, even claiming he has spoken to former Monaco team-mate Fode Ballo-Toure about the club.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) discusses Milan’s strategies in view of the winter transfer market. The paper confirms that the Rossoneri have followed the French playmaker for a long time and the 23-year-old would be delighted to move to Milan.

However, recently the chances of Milan actually signing him have dropped because at the moment Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have other targets in mind for the role.

  1. What sort of weird scouting is it where he’s identified as the best person on the last day of the transfer window but completely unnecessary when it opens again? Just because of Messias – a short-term fix if ever there was one?

If he’s the right player, get him. Otherwise, chalk it up on the long list of mistakes. Unless there’s just no money available due to getting knocked out of the CL in the first round, in which case fair enough.

    1. Yes bro, he is a feasible option too for us.. Young, moderate price, can play at AM & winger too…
What a waste if we lost him to other team

  2. I just hope this is our strategy to sign him under the radar. The guy has done his part to try and get a move over the line – it’s noww left to us to play our part right. I’d be disappointed if we made this guy do what he did only to turn our back on him.
