Tuttosport: Chelsea defender one of two players left on Milan’s wish list

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have been looking for a centre-back all summer and the matter, frankly, has probably consumed too much energy already. Two targets remain on the Rossoneri’s wish list, though, including a Chelsea man.

The Rossoneri will face Chelsea in the Champions League group stage this fall (read the schedule here) but there could be some business between the clubs before then. In fact, the Rossoneri are interested in Trevoh Chalobah.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have turned to the 23-year-old after failing to reach an agreement with Tottenham Japhet Tanganga. Inter were also interested in Chalobah but didn’t want to include a buy-out clause in the loan.

Milan, therefore, are ahead of their city rivals in the race and Chelsea’s signing of Wesley Fofana might unlock the situation. The Plan B for the Rossoneri is Schalke 04’s Malick Thiaw, who has been on the club’s radar for a very long time. He could perhaps arrive on a permanent basis, given his price tag of around €6m.
