Tuttosport: Club Brugge ask for €5m more from Milan to sell De Ketelaere

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have raised their offer for Charles De Ketelaere but it is not yet enough to get the green light from Club Brugge, a report claims.

Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) recall how De Ketelaere played 45 minutes of yesterday’s friendly against Utretcht for Brugge, giving Noa Lang an assist for one of the Belgians’ four goals. His presence on the field – as a false nine – took everyone by surprise after he didn’t play against Copenhagen last weekend.

The Rossoneri have not yet reached an agreement with Club Brugge though, as the management offered €28m fixed plus €3m in potential bonuses, while the Juliper Pro League club want at least €5m more.

The paper adds that by the end of this week, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will have to relaunch with a new bid beyond €30m if they want to get the signing of the 21-year-old over the line quick.y

The player for his part wants to go to Milan and does not intend to take into consideration offers from teams that will not compete in the Champions League in 2022-23.

  1. If you think he’s worth it, Milan, then pay up. If not, fair enough – move onto other targets.

It’s the club’s endless f***ing about which is so depressing for fans…

    1. It’s called negotiation. Consider the value of the transfers we got when we paid peanuts for Maignan, Tonali and Tomori compared to their true value on the market. Trust the process.

      1. Yes, trust the process. After all, it worked so well with Botman (and with all the recent salary renegotiations….)

      2. You cannot expect us to always offer peanuts all in the name of negotiation. When you’re in a competition with others for a player, you do two things:

        1. Check your anticident and escapades, and have that conviction that the figures are outrageous, then move on to other attainable targets. Or

        2. You enter into the negotiation with the mindset to either outdo, or match up, or present an offer with less significant variance with your competitor. Then you are in a negotiation.

Milan just won the Scudetto with players we bought for peanuts, the clubs we bought these players from are regretting probably they undervalued their players, especially the Tomori and Maignan deals.
Clubs wouldn’t want to follow in that path, they will be harder in negotiations now especially when the player is being sought after by other clubs.

Another disposition is that, after winning the league, our transfer budget and wage cap ought to be increased if we are truly serious to retain the title and fight for trophies this season, Milan’s success story is well documented, not just by Milan fans, not just in Italy, but globally. Every single club is watching us, they know our story.

  2. What my friend time is not in our side we need to win the super copper and defend the scudeto.they should go all in for our Target before another bottman happens.forza Milan.
