Tuttosport: Decision made on future of Pobega and Thiaw ahead of the summer

Malick Thiaw and Tommaso Pobega both arrived at Milanello last summer hoping to carve out a place, and both have succeeded in convincing the club.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the centre-back and the midfielder have impressed Stefano Pioli, his coaching staff and the directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara with their contributions this season.

As a result, both will be part of the Rossoneri’s future starting from next season, which puts to bed any rumours that Pobega, for example, could be sold to generate a capital gain.

Thiaw had a physiological period of acclimatisation and adaptation after arriving from Schalke but when Milan collapsed in January he was ready to step up and has really established himself in the second half of the season.

The growth of Pobega has also been a positive note, who over the course of the year has been able to carve out a role as a reliable alternative both in the double pivot and as a box-to-box attacking midfielder.
