Tuttosport: Disagreement emerges between Milan, Inter and Mediaset over Supercoppa

By Oliver Fisher -

A disagreement seems to have arisen regarding the Italian Supercoppa Italiana Final, which will see Mian and Inter compete on 18 January 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), the start time of the match – which will be broadcasted on Mediaset back in Italy – has not yet been made official. Mediaset for obvious reasons would like to show the game to its viewers in a prime time slot but that would require the teams to start the game at 22:00 local time.

The paper adds that Milan and Inter are instead insisting that the Super Cup starts at 18:00 CEST (20:00 local time), above all because the return trip to Milan is scheduled immediately after the game.

Updates are expected in the coming weeks on the situation and a concession will have to be made from one side, either on convenience or the need for the game to be in a certain slot for television purposes.

  1. There’s a 1 hour time difference. Let’s not be dramatic. 10pm saudi time is like 9pm In Italy. That’s exactly when matches take place.

    1. 2 hours. it’s one now because Saudi Arabia doesn’t use daylight saving. When Italy goes back to standard time on Oct. 30 it will be two hours.

        1. But they have to travel by plane which is several hours of time and it’s exhausting for the players, I think the players need one day of proper rest to prepare for the next match.

  2. Dumb that both teams are traveling to Saudie Arabia for the Suoercoppa Italiana. It should be played in Italy and preferably at the San Siro
