Tuttosport: From Premier League ‘dream’ to Theo precedent – Milan schedule Bennacer meeting

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer’s contract will expire in 2024 and AC Milan are working on a renewal, similar to the situation of Rafael Leao. There is a tad more optimism in this case, though, even if the matter is still complicated.

Bennacer has been a key player for Milan lately, really stepping it up since the exit of Franck Kessie in the summer. He deserves a pay rise, therefore, and talks will soon begin between his new agent Enzo Raiola and the Rossoneri.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Algerian media is talking about a Premier League ‘dream’ of Bennacer, while French outlets are saying that a renewal with Milan is imminent. The truth, most likely, lies in between these.

Milan will have a first meeting with Raiola in the next few days, per the newspaper, and it seems the new request of the player is €4-4.5m. In other words, he wants a salary in line with Theo Hernandez and the Rossoneri will have to do more than planned.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s first idea was to double the current salary, taking the total up top €3.5m plus bonuses, but that isn’t enough.
