Tuttosport: El Shaarawy would consider Milan return under one condition

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering a move to bring Stephan El Shaarawy back after eight years away, but the winger has a different plan in mind.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), El Shaarawy is in Milan’s sights for two reasons. The first is that he would be a good deputy to Rafael Leao on the left, and the second is that he is Italian so is useful for the home-grown quote.

El Shaarawy therefore could serve both of Milan’s needs especially with Ante Rebić heading for the exit door. His contract with Roma will expire on 30 June and he could arrive back at the Rossoneri on a free transfer.

However, the 30-year-old’s priority at the moment is to stay in the capital, but without a renewal proposal he will also evaluate the option of returning to Milan. ‘Il Faraone’ is yet to receive an offer from Roma, implying that they are still undecided on his future.

El Shaarawy was at Milan from July 2011 to June 2015, making a total of 102 appearances for the club with 27 goals and 13 assists.

  1. I don’t really like him as a player.

But he’s quick and makes things happen.

We could do worse than having him as a reserve on a wing.

  2. He’s a back up at best – LW or even RW. For free and a reasonable wage and back up role it’s fine – provided we sign a real RW starter. But I’m sure w these owners we again will not have the $$$
