Tuttosport: From Raspadori to Zaniolo – Milan aiming to build on their Italian core

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini is not just focusing on talents from abroad to strengthen the squad but also domestic players too, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), Maldini and Ricky Massara are considering building on the Italian core of the team in order to meet requirements for the UEFA squad list, which requires a number of homegrown players.

One certain new arrival in this sense will be Tommaso Pobega, who will return from his loan at Torino and will soon renew his contract with Milan. Then, Alessandro Florenzi’s permanent signing from Roma is getting closer and closer.

The true Italian dream of Maldini and Massara remains Nicolò Zaniolo, for whom Milan are ready to present to Roma an offer of €25m plus Ante Rebic as a counterpart, but Sassuolo duo Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori are also on the list, as is Genoa’s Andrea Cambiaso for the role of deputy to Theo Hernandez.
