Tuttosport: Furlani in Spain to close Morata deal – when his Milan debut could be

By all accounts, AC Milan will sign Alvaro Morata this week, but it may be a while until the Spaniard features in a Rossoneri shirt, according to a report.

Instead of being hung up about the Joshua Zirkzee situation, Milan moved on swiftly, and pending a medical, they have gotten their man – Morata. News filtered through after the European Championship final that things were close, especially with members of the Rossoneri watching the game in person.

However, it is only yesterday and this morning that things have been confirmed, and with news of the deal being finalised this morning, there can be some confidence that a deal is now close to completion.

Tuttosport (via Milan News) reports that Giorgio Furlani has travelled to Spain, more specifically to Madrid, to meet the player before his medical. However, following the medical, he will not travel to Milan. Instead, he will take a well-deserved vacation.

According to the report, it is believed that he could be in Italy at the beginning of August, therefore after the American Tour, before making his debut in the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy fixture against Monza in the middle of the month.

There is no guarantee this will be his first fixture, but it would give him a month to celebrate his European success, recuperate, and adjust to the Rossoneri’s training scheme.
