Tuttosport: Gabbia’s impressive growth and the decision on the market – key games ahead

By Isak Möller -

Matteo Gabbia has been one of the standout players this season, thrown into the starting eleven due to several injuries in the centre-back position. Fortunately, the youngster certainly hasn’t disappointed but rather the opposite.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Simon Kjaer’s injury paves the way for Matteo Gabbia to keep his spot in the starting eleven. The Dane is expected to miss 4-6 games, which is good for Gabbia.

The academy product will play alongside captain Alessio Romagnoli at the back, as we saw against Celtic. It’s a big opportunity to continue his impressive growth and further prove to the Rossoneri management that he should be the third choice.

Milan are expected to sign a centre-back in January and therefore, the upcoming games will be important for Gabbia to show that he deserves to be ahead of whoever joins. Now, though, he needs to take it one game at a time.

  1. He is very impressive. He should just be able to take instructions from his senior teammates n things will be okay for him.

  2. Gabia je neophodan za Milan ! Raste iz utakmice u utakmicu što ne znači da im ne treba novi vrhunski centralni obrambeni Milenkovič ili Rudiger !
