Tuttosport: Giroud ready to return as Ibrahimovic, Kjaer and Calabria make progress

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli may soon be able to welcome four key players back into his ranks starting with Olivier Giroud, according to a report.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes, the Rossoneri have been without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Giroud for the last few games, respectively stopped by inflammation of the Achilles tendon and back pain. The latter is expected to be back very shortly indeed, but the Swede is also making progress and should soon be available again.

Giroud returned yesterday to train with the squad and should be on the bench against Spezia as he will not have 90 minutes of fitness in his legs, but Pioli has in mind to bring him on for a segment of the game to warm him up for Tuesday’s game against Atletico Madrid.

Ante Rebic will lead the Milan attack once again tomorrow, as Pietro Pellegri showed against Venezia that he is not yet ready to be a starter. Ibrahimovic, Calabria and Kjaer are much better too, and the goal is to have them back for the crucial games against Atletico Madrid and Atalanta before the international break.
