AC Milan's French forward #09 Olivier Giroud

Tuttosport: Giroud’s Milan renewal now in his own hands

Olivier Giroud’s AC Milan currently lies in the balance. There is interest from both parties, but there is also interest from America – meaning there is much to be considered by the Frenchman if he is to renew his contract.

As reported by Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), there is interest from both Milan and Giroud to renew. However, there are some gaps in their positions, which is why the Rossoneri have left the decision to the striker.

In the eyes of the Diavolo, he is a consistent performer who can still perform at the required level for another year, but he would likely be a bit-part player to allow a new striker to take the reigns. In the eyes of the veteran, he would like to play consistently due to the fact he still feels good.

If there is no bridge made between the gaps, then there will be no hassle. There is still interest in Giroud’s services in America, and if he were to depart the Rossoneri this summer, he would do so with respect and admiration. There would be no bitterness from either side, with memories of the Scudetto success still fresh.

  1. Please Olivier stay for another season .
No matter who we sign ..I know you .you are still class and will fight for your place ..
    But it’s your decision…

  2. I think Giroud would easily score 20 goals every season, even now at 37-38 years of age, if we had a quality midfielder who could pass the great ball (someone like Pirlo). What Giroud is doing right now is miracle! I really hope he stays for few more seasons. There is no player with a hunch for a goal like Giroud. We haven’t had one since Inzaghi. And young players are just nowhere near Giroud regarding that hunch for a goalscoring!

  3. He doesn’t NEED to leave. He is a perfectly fine second/third striker. But Pioli has been fielding him like he’s 25 and at Arsenal still.
