Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic ‘a lion in a cage’ – the latest on his recovery schedule

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is working very hard to be available for the Serie A opener against Sampdoria later this month as his recovery continues.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) describes Ibrahimovic as ‘a lion in a cage’ who is desperate to return to training and would like to speed up his recovery time, but he also knows that rushing things is not an option either given the fact he is nearly 40.

This week marks his sixth since surgery and is the one in which there could be some important evolutions from a clinical point of view. The medical staff and coaches are satisfied with how things are going so far, but Dr. Mazzoni will have the final say as the man who coordinates the Rossoneri medical area.

When the go-ahead to return to the field arrives, a program of about seven to ten days of individual work will follow before Ibra can return to training with the group. Then he must regain match fitness, with the trip to Genoa on the 23rd in his sights.
