Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic announcement could come during Cardinale’s next visit

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan is very much on the cards, and the official announcement could well occur after the international break.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recall that Ibrahimovic spoke to Sky at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas and was asked about a potential return to Milan: “When will the announcement be made to Milan? Let’s see, let’s see… let’s talk, let’s talk.”

The paper writes that in reality the return of Ibrahimovic is practically a done deal, and the parties just need to decide the right time to announce it. Many were convinced that the official communication would arrive during this break for the national teams but the first week passed without any announcements.

It might be that there is no news this week either, but pay attention to the following one. Gerry Cardinale is in fact expected back in Italy to attend the Champions League match at San Siro against Borussia Dortmund and that might be the chosen moment the announce the Swede’s return.

Meanwhile, there is great excitement at Milan because everyone knows how important Zlatan could be. First of all for Stefano Pioli, who was left alone a little too long at Milanello, but also for the players and management who would have an additional point of reference.

Ibra will not be a permanent fixture at Milanello and in the Milan dressing room, but his presence will be decisive in encouraging his former team-mates and giving them the right advice and the right support in difficult moments.
