Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic answers Milan’s distress call again with announcement imminent

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is once again ready to come to the rescue of AC Milan during a difficult season, just as he did back in January 2020.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Ibrahimovic is getting ready to answer Milan’s distress call but this time he will not do it as a player and instead with a new role that will be made official in the next few days.

The most recent meeting between the Swede and Gerry Cardinale – which took place a week ago – led the parties to find an agreement and now we are just waiting for the long-awaited white smoke.

The paper explains that Ibra’s return is imminent and there will be an official announcement in the next few days. The international break is considered the right time to made Zlatan’s return official, and he will not have a specific role in the hierarchies but will instead do a few things.

What will his tasks actually be? We spoke at length about the Swede’s duties in a recent feature. First and foremost, he will work closely with Stefano Pioli and the team and will often be at Milanello. Ibra will also have constant contact with AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and with the technical area for discussions of various kinds.

  1. Can’t put my finger on it but there used to be a guy who “worked closely with Stefano Pioli and the team and was often at Milanello. And also have constant contact with AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and with the technical area for discussions of various kinds.” I’m stumped. Can’t recall exactly who but will let you know when I remember 🤭

    1. Yeah but Maldini’s personality type was to feel like he’s in charge and to think his decisions are the correct ones. I work with some guys like that and, although they deservedly rise up the ladder, they’re kept outside the ‘inner circle’ of the executives because they refuse to follow like a subordinate is expected to. From what I read, Cardinale never got close to Maldini because of that.

Ibra has the skill of being both a strong personality and a follower to those above him.

      1. Hahahaha.Lol you believe that? How do u know this? Through the articles that were fed to you that painted a picture of Maldini? We heard from Scaroni, not a word from Maldini. That to me says it all. Didn’t Scaroni say Pioli, Furlani and co are working in harmony unlike before? Pioli has the players he wants now. What’s still the problem?
You think Ibra doesn’t have an ego and that he doesn’t want things done his way??? Stop fooling yourself. Ibra to me is very much similar to Maldini. Wants to win (not top 4 like Scsroni) and wants to be important and not a figure head
