Monday night’s game between AC Milan and Roma will see two old-fashioned centre-forwards pitted against each other in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edin Dzeko.
As Monday’s edition of Tuttosport reports (via MilanNews), it will be a battle between to teams that have experienced strikers as their leaders, with the 39-year-old Ibrahimovic squaring off against the 34-year-old Dzeko.
Strangely these two players have never played directly against each other in Serie A or elsewhere in Europe. Back on June 28th when Milan won 2-0 at San Siro, the Swede and the Bosnian did not face each other as the former was out due to injury.
This evening will therefore be an unprecedented challenge between two great strikers and influential figures within the league.
Ibrahimovic will be hoping to score his third brace in a row in Serie A after those against Bologna and Inter, coming in his only two starts so far, but above all he wants to be decisive in giving Milan a four point lead at the top of the table.
However, the Rossoneri rearguard will have to be very wary of Dzeko, who also scored a brace in his last match against Benevento.
