Tuttosport: Ilicic’s possible move to Milan rests on several variables – an analysis of the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

Over the last couple of days AC Milan have been linked with a move for Atalanta playmaker Josip Ilicic, and Tuttosport have analysed the situation.

The paper (via MilanNews) claims that there are a lot of variables to consider, and the first is represented by the situation between Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini and the player. Between the two there has been tension, but also some easing, so future of the Slovenia international will depend on the thoughts of Gasperini.

Milan, on the other hand, must understand how far they can and want to go to the hiring of “elderly” players. Ilicic is 33 years old and, a bit like Ibrahimovic, will not always be able to play. In the case of the Champions League, however, another experienced player could be useful for Pioli. The last variable is linked to Calhanoglu: seeing them in the same team, writes Tuttosport, seems implausible at the moment.

Sporting director Massara in the past had tried to bring him to Rome, and one this is clear: the Rossoneri intend to spend as little as possible on transfer fee if the deal does take off.
