Tuttosport: Ilicic’s will is clear but Milan reach stalemate in negotiations with Atalanta – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are pushing ahead with a deal for Josip Ilicic but have not managed to strike a deal with Atalanta, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that we are not yet in the hottest phase of the negotiations, but Ilicic remains a profile that Milan really like and the operation could only go through in the last days of the transfer market.

There is a difference between the two clubs with regards to the evaluation of the player as the Bergamo club want €8m to sell the 33-year-old, but Milan on the other hand do not want to offer more than €4m. The negotiation is therefore experiencing a stalemate of sorts, but other solutions are being discussed usch as the hypothesis of a paid loan or Milan waiving their bonuses/sell-on clause for Matteo Pessina.

It must also be noted that Ilicic’s will is clear and he wants to join Milan, while the Rossoneri management continue to monitor other profiles such as Isco, James Rodriguez and Ziyech.

  1. Not even for free! He is a very good player, but I thought the plan of Elliot was a young Milan team with 2-3 leaders…
I just hope that this is a cover for bringing back Pessina…
