Tuttosport: ‘Important confirmations’ have arrived regarding Juventus interest in Milan star

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus are serious about landing AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer, according to a report.

Milan have allowed Calhanoglu to run down his contract, which is set to expire in June 2021, meaning they need to quickly reach an agreement over a renewal or accept the fact he may strike a deal with another club and leave on a free transfer.

A number of different clubs have been credited with interest in the 26-year-old over the past few weeks by various outlets including the likes of Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter and even Barcelona.

Antonino Milone, a well-known journalist for Tuttosport, spoke to Calciomercato.it about the future of Calhanoglu and also his team-mate Gianluigi Donnarumma who is also on an expiring contract.

“Milan must deal with the renewal issue: there are no great steps forward for Calhanoglu and for Donnarumma the signing is still awaited,” he said.

“I think this is the priority for the Rossoneri. Juventus want Calhanoglu? We believe in it because we have had important confirmations, the intermediaries have moved. The agents also have excellent relations with Juve.”
