Tuttosport: Juventus turn to Milan centre-back as Demiral replacement – Raiola could assist the operation

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus are once again ready to try their luck in signing AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli, according to a report.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) writes that Juventus are hoping to be able to sell centre-back Merih Demiral for a nice capital gain and have two potential replacements in mind. In addition to testing the ground for Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina, it seems the Bianconeri are still interested in Romagnoli who faces an uncertain future at Milan.

The Rossoneri captain did not have a good second half of the season due to some bad performances and an injury, losing his spot in the starting line-up to Fikayo Tomori of Chelsea, a player Milan are set to buy outright.

Romagnoli has lost the trust of the club and his manager Stefano Pioli, as per the report, and now his future is strongly in the balance. His contract is expiring in 2022 and the high demands of his agent Mino Raiola – who wants a pay rise to €6m net per season for his client – means an exit is probable. Raiola has excellent relations with Juventus, which obviously could favour the operation.
