Tuttosport: Kessie renewal on stand-by – his performances no longer justify the demands

By Oliver Fisher -

The situation surrounding Franck Kessie’s renewal remains at a standstill and his performances have not helped his cause, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), everything is at a standstill for the renewal of Kessie, whose current contract with Milan will expire on 30 June 2022. The disappointing performances of the Ivorian at the start of the season no longer justify the requests made by the player and his entourage, hence why no raised bid has been launched.

It comes after 90min reported yesterday, Kessie will decide on his long-term future in January, but if he is to leave Milan then a move to the Premier League seems to be his preference.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in the 24-year-old, as have Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and Leicester in the Premier League.

    1. Also…. “Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in the 24-year-old, as have Liverpool”

There is a great chance he was playing against us in both games in order to get a better deal from them. If he ends up moving to either of those, it will just confirm my suspicions.

    2. He also ruined the game at Anfield. Mid-back was our strongest line against their build-ups but he literally gave up from the very beginning of the clash. We could do better against Liverpool instead of getting a tornado of their attackers.

  1. Kessie cost us the game against atletico despite the referee controversial decisions. He has shown that he no longer want to play for milan again. Our coach should go with Benaccer and Tonali in the midfield while expecting krunic and Bakayoko to return from their injuries as soon as possible. This is not the Kessie I watched last season,he can leave if he wants to leave…who cares

  2. I don’t care if he renews or not, just stop using him until it’s resolved. Players on expiring contracts will never perform at their best as their minds are already elsewhere, and Kessie won’t renew. He will leave.

Tonali has been amazing this season, Bennacer put in a world class performance last night. Krunic was great before his injury and we have Bakayoko, too.

  3. Maldini needs to tell Pioli that Kessie won’t play anymore if he doesn’t sign. He can warm the bench and be sold in January, or spend the whole season on the bench.

Last 3 matches I’ve seen him play were horrible.

  4. Kessie’s yellow cards were horsesh!t. That 1st half sending off was crap.
Best scenario: We make a deal, keep him, he learns a lesson, clears his mind, and gets back to becoming one of the best midfielders in the world.
    Forza Milan

  5. The hot topic of the season.
Clearly the player struggles. He underperforms, is physically tired due to the Olympics, doesn’t care much, who knows…
For whatsoever reason he is a burden atm so he shouldn’t even considered to be a starter!
I am surprised why he is. Let him rest on the bench and be a sub until he proves otherwise on the pitch.
