Tuttosport: Kessie’s absence more damaging than first thought as Milan struggle

AC Milan had to fight extremely hard last night to get all three points against what was a nine-man Bologna in the end. Safe to say, with that description in mind, that it wasn’t great from the Rossoneri without some key players.

Franck Kessie is one of the players that missed out on the game yesterday. The list also included the likes of Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz. In other words, several key players were out.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have lacked solidity and balance in the last few outings. It seems the absence of Kessie might be more damaging than first thought.

That’s not to say that Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali didn’t do well, but the stamina of Kessie is hard to make up for. On Tuesday, he should play from the first minute and it will be interesting to see if the difference is noticeable.
