There is the possibility that the 2023-24 season might not be Simon Kjaer’s last as an AC Milan player, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) writes that Kjaer’s current contract is set to expire in just under one year and even though he will turn 35 during the next season, it might not be his final one at the club.
The management are in fact weighing up an extension for another year, therefore moving the expiry to June 2025. The reason? After Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s retirement from football, Kjaer is seen by his team-mates as a leader in the dressing room.
However, in order for Kjaer’s contract renewal with Milan to materialise, it will be necessary to understand what performance levels the player will demonstrate in 2023-24.
His physical fitness is no longer what it used to be – especially after the knee ligament injury he underwent – and the Dane must therefore give guarantees in terms of how much he can play.
Yep , evaluate at the end of his contract , dont repeat florenzi case ( giving contract just because his effect on dressing room )
