The return of Rafael Leao does not just give AC Milan their best forward back, but it will also benefit Christian Pulisic too.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning how Pulisic has played on the left as a replacement for the injured Leao in recent week, but now the Portuguese is ready to return to the starting line-up tomorrow evening against Newcastle the attack will change.
The American will once again be used on the right flank of the Milan attack as he was for the majority of the first part of the season, and it is also the position from which he scored four of his five goals since arriving.
Olivier Giroud will obviously complete the front three, which is probably Pioli’s first choice at the moment (even if Samuel Chukwueze did well against Dortmund in the last Champions League game) and the one with the most chemistry.
There are almost obligatory choices in the other two departments, especially in defence where the emergency continues with Kjaer, Kalulu, Thiaw and Pellegrino out. Calabria, Tomori, Theo Hernandez and Florenzi will be the defence.
In the middle of the pitch, Bennacer will be absent given that he is not on the UEFA squad list, so the usual trio of Loftus-Cheek, Musah and Reijnders should be confirmed.
Leao covers up our shortcomings while Pulisic exposes them, both do this with their talent. Leao can sprint past anyone so he can bypass most defensive set ups and be dangerous, as long as some one lofts it to him were good. Pulisic’s style of play naturally invites teammates to create with him but the rest of the players fail to see what he’s seeing and it shows (imagine him and super Jack playing together). When laeo asserts himself we seem like a good team, when pulisic does it we look disjointed. The key is to have both options in a game but if we lack a coherent game plan and passing patterns we’ll continue to give away games.
When giroud is playing well he can create with pulisic but that’s just one other player and he’s looked not himself lately. The midfield needs to be more brave and try to create with pulisic. It’s almost a lack of trust whether it’s in the system themselves or their teammates.

I think when Pulisic tried to run by guys in the past he ended up finding himself fouled hard just like what happens to Leao but Leao usually gets up and Pulisic gets injured. When pulisic beats his guy down the wing he hits a low cross to the back post and no one arrives for the tap in. Pulisic and Calabria were developing good chemistry before Pulisic got hurt then Leao got hurt hopefully now that the attack is recovered we see the partnership progress.
To little to late we needed this attack against Dortmund no matter the result here doesn’t count we solely rely on dortmund to the job has it stands I don’t have it put my mind in this mission impossible good and fine I have faith but when the ball is no longer in your court it takes a huge miracle two task at hand
