Tuttosport: Two crucial renewals a big test for Milan’s ambitions – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

While there is a lot of talk about new signings and additions to the squad that might arrive, one of the ways that the AC Milan ownership must show their ambition is through two key renewals.

As this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports, Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan will be back at Milanello today to begin preseason training after they had a vacation, with Tijjani Reijnders also back.

Fresh from their experience at the European Championships with France, the two players will make themselves available to the new coach Paulo Fonseca, who will be at the training ground in a few days when the team return from the USA.

A big season awaits for the French duo, all while waiting to resolve all doubts regarding their future and in particular the possible renewal of their contract with Milan, with both of them on deals that expire in June 2026.

At the end of the transfer window, their contractual situations will come to the fore as Milan would like to renew both players. The paper adds: “This double round of negotiations will be yet another test in which the Milan management and its owners will have to face up to it.”
