Tuttosport: Maldini and Massara could spring a surprise in pursuit of new playmaker

By Oliver Fisher -

There is a possibility that the player who will join AC Milan as the new attacking midfielder is not yet known to the media, according to a report.

As Tuttosport writes (via MilanNews), the list of attacking midfielders linked with Milan is really long, with the likes of Isco, Josip Ilicic, James Rodriguez, Nikola Vlasic and Hakim Ziyech all mentioned by various media outlets, but there could yet be a surprise.

Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have often come up with profiles that have never emerged in the media until they are nearly a done deal – as happened with Fode Ballo-Toure – and this could be the case for the No.10 position too.

Perhaps the most striking thing so far is that the profiles mentioned above all do not seem compatible with Milan as Isco and James have high wages, Vlasic and Ziyech are costly while Ilicic is now 33.

  1. You are totally right. The surprise will be Ramsey. He is the only one who could come on loan with option to buy – the preferred method of the club. Or maybe they will find an attacking midfielder who costs similarly to BaloToure. I prefer Krunic instead of Ramsey

    1. AM at the cost of ballo-toure
      I cant stop laughing,that was a good one😂😂
we can get such players from ligue2 too so it seems like a great match😀😀

  2. well he has already been mentioned previously but they really should move for 20 ear old Charles De Ketelaere as he has a great future ahead of him and we could allways offer some cash + extra downpayment next year +bonuses and a big resale clause like 30% or something. Add to that he is young and will only increase in value in the coming years and due to his height would also add some physical pressure upfront combined with giroud and zlatan it would be a force to be reckoned with. Add to that both he and diaz could develope along eachother and should each of them get a lot of fieldtime. He should be fairly affordable as well as he is currently valued at 16 mil on transfermarkt and its just a matter of time before he gets snapped up by a big team so let that be us.

    1. That would be one hell of a great move.

And why not, if Juve has Christiano, why can’t we try to lure Messi to Italy

  3. Haha my first thought was Messi too. Maybe he’d be interested just to mess with Ronaldo. On the real though I’d prefer some diamond in the rough type player over a highly paid underachiever.
