Tuttosport: Management and Pioli clash over Kjaer’s future as time runs out on €3.5m option

The deadline for AC Milan to use their option to buy Simon Kjaer from Sevilla permanently expires in less than 24 hours, a report claims.

Even against Napoli, Kjaer put in a solid showing against one of the league’s most in-form attacks, and the Dane has been exceptional both before and after the break due to lockdown.

As Tuttosport notes (via MilanNews), he has become an untouchable part of the starting XI for head coach Stefano Pioli, but clearly the club’s leadership do not see him the same way as they have still not exercised their €3.5m option to buy.

The former Fenerbahce man still does not fully convince the leadership, perhaps due to his age and/or his salary demands. For his part, Kjaer continues to play with great determination, without paying much attention to the lack of trust on the part of the club.

On Wednesday the deadline set by Sevilla for the redemption of the player expires, but everything is silent at Casa Milan. The player, for his part, wants to stay.
