Tuttosport: Milan accelerate talks with Chelsea over €30m midfielder; target date in mind

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan want to try and speed up talks with Chelsea over a return for Tiemoue Bakayoko with a target date set for his arrival.

The Rossoneri have closed deals for Sandro Tonali from Brescia and Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid in the last few days, and Wednesday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) claims that negotiations with Chelsea for Bakayoko are ongoing.

They add that the Frenchman could return on loan with an option to buy inserted into the deal at €30m. Paolo Maldini and the management would like to speed up the process to have the 26-year-old midfielder available for the first official match of the season.

That game is on 17 September against Shamrock Rovers in the second qualifying round for the next Europa League, and is just a few days before the Serie A season will start, with a third qualifying round game then to follow a week later on 24 September.
