Tuttosport: Milan annoyed as Zirkzee’s agent asks for €10m in commission

By Isak Möller -

Joshua Zirkzee has ended up at the top of AC Milan’s wish list ahead of the summer mercato, with the club in need of a No.9 after Olivier Giroud’s departure. However, as a report claims, a very high commission request is making it complicated.

Zirkzee is being followed by several big clubs after what has been a very successful season for him and Bologna. Milan have been keeping tabs on the situation for a long time, and we first reported about the concrete interest back in December.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are very keen on securing the Dutchman this summer and they are ready to pay the €40m release clause. An important salary will also be on the table for the striker but still, the operation is rather complicated.

Indeed, as the newspaper continues, Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian is asking for at least €10m in commission to make the deal happen. Milan have never got close to these amounts in recent years, at most paying €2.8m to the entourage of Charles De Ketelaere.

It remains to be seen if a middle ground can be found, but it should also be noted that Bayern Munich reportedly are interested and they have a buy-back clause.

    1. Sesko is inconsistent as hell 65m is way too much for him. 20-30 is fine, get Guirassi. Sesko is hot and cold, another Piatek

    2. Do you really believe they will pay €65 million for a player? This management will not spend that much on one player, you wait and see.

  1. Milan cannot afford this guy, but, everyday we keep hearing different stories. Ultimately, Milan will not pay that much, and regardless of how much they tell us Ibra and others are at work, nothing will come out of this. No more data to waste on Zirkzee stories.

  2. Wasn’t there a rule implemented in recent years that agent commissions isn’t allowed to exceed 10 % in value of the combined amount 0f transfer fees ? or has it just not been implemented yet ?

    1. I think its been discussed but not made official. Nonetheless I don’t see how it’ll be enforced. Sure the “official” agent fee will be 10% but there’ll be a bunch of sideshow perks that magically appear… I can almost guarantee the likes of Juve will happily skirt the rules to appease greedy agents, if it means they get the player they want

      1. Ok thanks for the clarification Kayson, I was of the view that it actually had been implemented which would be a smart move for the sport, Sure there is no perfect system and cheating will also to some extent prevail until caught.

    1. Could be…2 years younger and easy to say”he only scored 11 league goals”but his playmaking stats are crazy for a striker and key passes. Also player around him score more with him so i think leao will explode with him.As zirkzee often drops down and give the wingers space by dragging defenders with him.also he just turned 23 he will score more in the future and 11 goals arent horrible is more than Hojlund last season. His heat map is crazy too.He reminds me of young zlatan who also didnt score much he has crazy dribbling and theqnique for his height. And is pretty fast with good playmaking skills. And we all now zlatan became a goalscorer to🔥

        1. Why do we need a goalscorer? Its not like we have trouble scoring goals. We need a player that will link with our wingers and lead te line when we aren’t in possession. Josh fits the bill.

I believe zirkzee leao could be a bit like benz penaldo.

And honestly who is to say he won’t start scoring more goals with better teammates anyway? You don’t know that. You don’t know how his game will develop in a year or two…

    1. Absolutely. The activity of the agents must be strictly regulated and a fixed amount established for them to collect, a reasonable amount that will not allow the money to drain from football and the extortion of the clubs by these mafia agents of the type of Joorbachian, Raiola, Mendes and others.

    2. Well its not exactly true, there are alot hood agent who make the player career reach his peak. Media only zoom in the bad one.

      1. That’s because you can’t reap commissions on “lesser” players. Offload Calabria and see how much his agent can make on him. LOL!!!

But get a golden goose and Boom! I want 10mil, 15mil, etc.

  3. Would be crazy paying so much for a playermaker called a striker. May as well play RLC as striker and will probably give you the same numbers.

    1. This guy not an ordinary agent, cant forget what he is doing with Tevez and Mascherano when they are move to West Ham
