AC Milan are expecting a response from Spurs in the next two or three days after submitting an offer for Emerson Royal, according to a report.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports, Milan have accelerated negotiations with Tottenham for Emerson Royal in recent days and the deal should be concluded in a rather short time.
The decision was made after the injury suffered by Alessandro Florenzi, who will be out for months after knee surgery and thus there is less depth available in that position now.
Milan are now working to close the deal with Tottenham as soon as possible to sign Emerson. Contacts between the parties are intense and the difference between offer and demand has further reduced, so much so that within 48-72 hours the management expect Spurs to accept the bid.
The Brazilian is a specific request from the new Milan coach Paulo Fonseca who wants a right-back that matches up with his tactical ideas and can provide some balance with Theo Hernandez on the left side.
Emerson will compete for the starting shirt with Davide Calabria, who in the meantime is negotiating a renewal with Milan given that his current contract will expire in less than a year (June 2025).
