Tuttosport: Milan close to a clean bill of health – the latest on Gabbia, Kjaer and Brahim Diaz

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are close to being able to count upon a fully fit squad at last as Matteo Gabbia is also nearing return, a report claims.

For months the Rossoneri have decimated by injuries and absences due to Covid-19, but slowly it seems they are moving towards being able to call upon all first team players.

Tuttosport (via MilanLive) explains that Gabbia is on the path to recovery. The central defender has been out since 13 December due to an injury to the medial collateral ligament of his left knee, sustained against Parma.

Gabbia should return to training with his team mates at Milanello this week and he could be summoned by Pioli against either Spezia or Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League. Simon Kjaer is also expected to return around that time too.

Kjaer will now start an individual reconditioning programme that will last 7-10 days and which should allow him to completely heal from the muscle injury that he suffered in the Coppa Italia exit against Inter.

As for Brahim Diaz, the recovery time is still unclear, so next week the Spanish playmaker will have a new check-up.
