Tuttosport: Milan closing on Chelsea striker as second summer signing – ‘operation about to be completed’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on their second signing of the summer as Olivier Giroud is about to agree a deal, according to a report.

The renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a sign of continuity that Milan wanted to give to the group. The Swede will be the leader of a young and growing team for another year, but his injury problems this season have shown he can’t play close to every game. That is why Maldini and Massara are also considering other profiles that can alternate with Ibra and allow him to manage his work load.

As reported by the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are in talks with Giroud and his entourage and they have developed to such an extent that the operation is in fact about to be completed. The headline even reads ‘operation about to be completed’.

The Frenchman is a strong player despite being 34, he knows the Champions League well having just won it with the Blues and would not cast a shadow on Ibrahimovic. In short, Milan consider him the ideal free transfer.

  1. I don’t get this. He’ll be no better than Mandzukic. Old guy who wasn’t even that good in his prime.

    1. Di tengah pandemi, keuangan klub mengalami kesulitan..Milan butuh lebih dari 1 striker, Giroud punya kualitas, Milan hanya perlu mendatangkan 1 striker Muda lagi..
