AC Milan are confident that they will beat the competition and sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Milan’s need for a more physical midfielder having not properly replaced Franck Kessie following his departure for Barcelona just under a year ago.
Kessie was criticised for his fluctuating performance levels and for the way he left on a free transfer after saying he would renew, but the Ivorian midfielder – with his physicality and his knack for scoring – was fundamental for Pioli, who will now also have to do without Ismael Bennacer.
Paolo Maldini and Ricky massara identified Loftus-Cheek as the idea reinforcement. The 27-year-old is set to leave Chelsea, contacts have already started and Milan are confident of beating the competition to sign him.
Given that his contract expires in 2024, the Rossoneri management hope to land him for a figure of below €15m, even though the Blues are currently asking for around €20m.
13 million is ideal. If wolfsburg requesting 12 for Vranckx who is not strong to cover position. If RLC is on 3,5 million net salary that would be fine investment for next season.

I think we need to acknowledge that Pioli is a limited coach. We only 1-4-2-3-1 or tarting with 3 defenders(that is already is 100% improvement of choice of tactics that Pioli has after 3 years being here). There only was 1 Serie A target which is a place in TOP 4 and this way or another Pioli is getting there. He over-achieved in CL. The only way to stabilize the team is to purchase players that fit into his limited tactical vision. Adli is not playing at all. No minutes at all even though sometimes we don’t do changes till 70th minute. Pobega plays more as he fits more into the physical games. Loftus-Cheek is a player that would allow AC Milan to rotate Bennacer – Tonali more often. At the minute Krunic became a starter and there is plenty of games out of Serie A. We need to go back to having 4 midfielders competing for the double pivot spots and not 2 or 3 but 1 of them also plays behind strikers sometimes. I fully understand this transfer if it happens. He is able to play 20-25 games a year, so others don’t need to play 50-55. He is also quite versatile. I don’t believe Milan can afford Diaz. His price only went up and clubs like Arsenal can well afford spending 30milion on him. So, we will see Bennacer and Pobega up front probably. Transfer of Loftus-Cheek makes perfect sense.
RLC has never been consistent and has never stayed fit, why would that would change if he comes to Milan ?? he is a also way too expensive and too old, we need to target young italian talent, Fazzini from Empoli is a prime example, young, talented and wants to prove himself and also very affordable, i do not understand why we are looking at all these players from overseas when we have an abundance of talent on our doorstep ?

Swallow your pride and just bring back Kessie on loan w option before Inter gets him and he destroys us for the next 5 years. RLC is cheap for a reason because he is always hurt. Fofana is 28-29 and will cost 30M. Bring back Kessie and enough with this $hit. If Inter gets him he will dominate Tonali/Krunic/Benny for fun. I can already see it unfortunately
And IF Tornio is still interested in that molasses Pobega – and of Torino is stupid enough to do it – swap Pobega for SINGO – and we have our RB that can fly up and down the pitch and put in some crosses like Theo on the Left instead of relying on the one dimensional (better served as a backup and occasional spot starter) Calabria – so we are not so predictable and one sided (left) in attack
