Tuttosport: Milan set deadline for Bennacer’s potential Saudi transfer – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the last few or so and the fact that he was benched yesterday says a lot. However, according to a report, AC Milan have set a deadline for the potential transfer.

Due to the squad rules, Milan will have to sell one of their more prominent players to make an additional signing this summer. Selling Yacine Adli (seemingly close to Fiorentina) will not be enough, in other words, and that’s why Benbnacer has been linked with a move.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), a move remains possible but everything will depend on which club comes forward. Al-Shabab and Al-Qadsiah have expressed an interest but not more than that, and they also aren’t under the PIF umbrella.

Milan have set a deadline for the potential transfer, needing an offer by the middle of next week or they will take Bennacer off the market. The player is happy to stay, as has been made clear, but also to pack his bags if the offer is good enough for him as well as the Rossoneri.

Manu Kone is one of the players that has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Bennacer but as things stand, the Algerian will remain at the club.

  1. Bennacer, Fofana, Rejndeers should be the starting mid. This is if we actually want to achive something. You can’t start Musah who cant make a pass and has no idea of positioning and Loftus who has a good game once in a blue moon and expect results. Or if you already want to sell Benacer you need a new player to replace him, cause no one from the current back ups is good enough.

  2. We have Reijnders who can pass horizontally but not vertically (at least, rarely vertically), then RLC and Musah who can’t pass in either direction but sure let’s sell Bennacer.

  3. Not sure why we are so desperate to sell Benny.

Now IF we were getting paid his release clause of 50M – then ok – you have an argument. Someone pays the clause and he wants to leave – fine. Not much we can do.

But to sell him for 20M or so makes zero sense especially when he is the only pure DM for a double pivot; Musah is a backup at best in this stage of his career; RLC and Reijnders are not DM’s. Fofana is the only other player that can prob play as a DM. And the player they supposedly want to replace Benny in Koné (assuming Roman doesn’t beat us to him) – isn’t a DM really either. More of an 8.

We need to switch to a 4-3-3 to have a chance this season.

    Dont get it at all…

  4. I don’t know why so many people are complaining about the sale of bennacer he can go he isn’t good defensively at the same time he isn’t good offensively so why do we want someone isn’t good at either side
