AC Milan’s priority remains the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma but they have begun to look at three alternatives in case he leaves, a report claims.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the absolute priority remains the extension of Gigio and therefore the Milan leaders will try in every way until the last day to convince him to stay. However, Milan cannot remain idle in the meantime and therefore the Rossoneri are looking around to identify any replacements for Donnarumma.
There are three hot names at the moment: Mike Maignan of Lille, Alphonse Areola of Fulham (but owned by PSG) and Juan Musso of Udinese. Maignan costs €12-13m, but it is also in the sights of Tottenham that would have identified him as the heir of Lloris. In the last few hours, the name of Areola – who was linked back in 2019 in a swap bid to land Donnarumma – has also returned to candidacy.
Finally, Musso from Udinese is also an option but there is strong competition from Inter and above all from Roma. In the coming weeks, other names will certainly come out, but Milan hope it will be just links because they have renewed Donnarumma.
