Tuttosport: Milan eye €40m Real Madrid starlet in Hernandez-esque deal

By Isak Möller -

After the Theo Hernandez signing, AC Milan could knock on Real Madrid’s door once again. Last summer, the Maldini-Boban-Massara trio flew to Spain to chat with the Bernabeu leadership and analyze different profiles.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the clubs mostly discussed redundancies and Martin Odegaard was brought up during the meeting. In recent weeks, the Norweigan has returned to the Rossoneri’s radar.

The talented midfielder arrived at Real Madrid at the age of 16, ending up in the reserve team and then on several loan adventures. This year, however, Odegaard has managed to shine with Real Sociedad with 7 goals and 8 assists before the stop.

There is an option to extend the loan, but if Real were to decide to bring Odegaard back, Sociedad will hardly be able to hold him back. The player, though, isn’t too keen on returning to the Bernabeu side.

For Milan, the 21-year-old is the ideal profile for the new revolution: he’s young and has the technical-tactical characteristics that Ralf Rangnick wants in his squad.

The price tag is quite high – we are talking about €40m – but the Rossoneri directors could try to snatch Odegaard on a loan with an option to buy. The player’s contract will expire in 2023.
