Tuttosport: Milan eye Roma, Atalanta and Udinese trio as potential Calhanoglu replacements

AC Milan’s management have a number of options in mind for if Hakan Calhanoglu were to decide to leave the club, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how  if Calhanoglu were to not renew his contract, Milan would immediately go in search of a new attacking midfielder regardless of the negotiation with Real Madrid for Brahim Diaz’s stay.

There are currently three names on the list with Josip Ilicic of Atalanta mentioned, though a Papu Gomez-style operation of €4-6m would be needed. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also an option, but it will be necessary to understand if his relationship with Jose Mourinho will be curable after their disagreements at Manchester United.

The great dream remains Udinese’s De Paul, but the asking price is high and there is great competition on the 26-year-old Argentine, both Italian and from abroad. Milan could try though, and a top four finish would help.
