This summer, the talk of Youssouf Fofana joining AC Milan has been the main talking point, given the saga has gone on for so long, and with the deal complete, fans are looking forward to his first game.
It is hard to describe the Fofana to Milan saga as anything but difficult. Before the European Championship, reports had suggested that the Frenchman would join shortly after France’s elimination, but that wasn’t the case.
Fast forward a month, and it seemed that the Monaco midfielder could join in the summer of 2025, given his contract ended that summer, and this seemed a growing possibility with the Rossoneri and Monaco unable to find an agreement.
However, a late surge was made, and now the midfielder is a Milanista, something which he had been dreaming of all summer.
As Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports, the Milan fans could not resist a chance to greet their new signing for the first time and came in their numbers to the club’s flagship store in Via Dante to welcome Fofana.
With the introductions completed, the attention turns to his first appearance, and the paper suggests it will occur this weekend against Parma – unless something unexpected happens. Given Fonseca is expected to make changes to the defence, adding some defensive stability in midfield will be a huge help.
