Tuttosport: Milan handed boost as Chelsea slash price tag of outcast – main obstacle remains

The rumours linking Tiémoué Bakayoko with a move to AC Milan are back once again. Following a loan spell at Monaco, the midfielder is now getting ready to return to Chelsea, where he isn’t exactly the first choice.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), taking stock of Bakayoko’s future, he would return to the Rossoneri in a heartbeat. Furthermore, the latter would gladly take the 25-year-old back after the successful loan in 2018/19.

Last summer, Chelsea asked for €35m to part ways with the former Monaco man on a permanent basis. Milan thus decided not to keep Bakayoko but the price tag has now been slashed to €20m, which is a figure that they can afford.

However, the main obstacle remains and that is the salary, which currently is over €6m per year. The Rossoneri will make an exception to their wage cap (2.5m-3m) for some big names, such as Gigio Donnarumma, but most likely not for the new signings.
