AC Milan could sacrifice a key player in order to finance their incoming signings this summer, according to a report.
According to what Tuttosport are reporting (via MilanLive), Milan could be forced to sacrifice even one or more players to actively reinvest on the incoming market, as further liquidity is urgently needed.
One of the players put forward by the paper is centre-back Alessio Romagnoli, who has been sidelined since the arrival of Fikayo Tomori in January, and the Englishman appears to be a player that the Rossoneri are intent on keeping.
The exit of Romagnoli is not to be excluded for one simple reason: his contract will expire in June 2022 and his agent Mino Raiola has already informed Milan that he is expecting a significant increase compared to the current €3.5m net per season he earns.
Romagnoli has lost his starting position and, has a contract that is difficult to renew and is in his prime years, but the Rossoneri will only listen to offers of over €30m. Any proceeds will be used to finance the permanent signings of Tomori (€28m) and Sandro Tonali (€15m).
