AC Milan are expected to try and sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic again in the January window but there are alternative targets, a report claims.
The Rossoneri were repeatedly linked with a move for Milenkovic throughout the summer mercato but were ultimately unable to conclude a deal with Fiorentina who continued to persist with a high asking price.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting that Milenkovic remains Milan’s first choice target for the defensive department ahead of the January window, but there are also other names on the Rossoneri’s radar.
For example, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are also big admirers of Ozan Kabak from Schalke 04. The Turkish defender was close to joining the Rossoneri in the summer, so another attempt to sign him cannot be ruled out if there are more difficulties regarding Milenkovic.
Also on the list are Kristoffer Ajer of Celtic and German Pezzella of Fiorentina, who were linked during the last window too.
