Tuttosport: Milan have clear strategy regarding €40m-rated Rebic – player wants to stay

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a clear and defined strategy regarding the future of on-loan winger Ante Rebic, a report claims.

Rebic joined the Rossoneri from Eintracht Frankfurt on a two-year loan back in August and after struggling up until Christmas he has since established himself as a key player, becoming the club’s top scorer with just goals in 2020 alone.

The problem, Tuttosport reveals (via MilanLive), is that his huge growth has made not only Milan’s eyes shine, but also the management of Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bundesliga side know that the better Rebic players the more money they can collect from his eventual sale in just over a year’s time.

The report mentions that a €40million valuation has been placed upon the Croatia international, because Eintracht will have to give up 50% of the transfer fee to Fiorentina due to a previous agreement made at the time of his move from Florence to Frankfurt.

Milan, however, are in no hurry. They know that by the end of his loan spell Rebic will be one year away from the expiry of his contract, which will of course be a more advantageous negotiating positive.

In the meantime, the player is happy in Milan and wants to stay with the Rossoneri despite the sacking of his compatriot Zvonimir Boban who played a decisive role in his arrival.
