Tuttosport: Milan hit a wall in pursuit of trequartista as No.1 target is also most expensive

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to be making no ground in their pursuit of number one playmaker target Nikola Vlasic, according to a report.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Vlasic of CSKA Moscow is still the Rossoneri’s favoured target to replace Hakan Calhanoglu in the role of attacking midfielder with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara in agreement about his quality and the guarantees he should offer.

However, there is an obstacle: he is the most expensive of all the targets they have on their list. Milan may have to wait at least until the end of the window, when the Russian club could lower their asking price.

Vlasic racked up 16 goals contributions (11G, 5A) in 26 league games last season for CSKA, having managed 12 goals and 5 assists in 30 games last season. There are also rumours of interest from Zenit, with the Russian capital club obviously not in favour of strengthening a direct rival.
