Tuttosport: Milan identify key Lille figure as Rangnick back-up plan – Spurs also keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have identified a ‘plan B’ for if Ralf Rangnick chooses to decline a role at the club ahead of next season, according to a report.

There continues to be persistent and widespread speculation claiming that Rangnick will become the next ‘manager’ of Milan – that being a joint role where he would be the next head coach and the man in charge of recruitment.

According to Tuttosport though (via MilanLive), Milan do not want to be caught unaware if the plan regarding the German were to fail for whatever reason.

Lille’s Luis Campos is the back-up plan, and the Portuguese director is a profile that Milan would try and appoint without hesitation.

There is an opening on this front too, and Campos has to be released by Lille despite having a three-year contract as he is no longer in line with the project president Gerard Lopez wants to lead.

The idea cohabitation between Rangnick and Campos should be discarded but the situation must be monitored, while Tuttosport adds to pay attention to the competition in the meantime as José Mourinho’s Tottenham are keen on the idea of appointing him.
