AC Milan have reignited their interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat who is likely going to have to find a new club in the summer, a report claims.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are hoping to sign a ‘dam’ in the summer, i.e. a midfielder who is more defensively minded and can help shield the back four which has been over-exposed at times this season.
A profile that could be useful to the Rossoneri is Amrabat , a 27-year-old midfielder who is at Manchester United on loan with an option to to buy from Fiorentina. The Moroccan is finding playing time hard to come by with the Red Devils and therefore could become an interesting opportunity.
Fabrizio Romano recently clarified the situation surrounding Amrabat, who has also played for Verona in Serie A, with most of the signals suggesting a to Fiorentina in the summer is very likely.
“Sofyan Amrabat hasn’t had the easiest time on loan at Manchester United this season since joining on loan from Fiorentina, and there’s now speculation about a decision already being made for the summer,” Romano via CaughtOffside.
“However, my understanding is that no decision has been communicated to Amrabat or to Fiorentina so far. Still, a decision will likely come soon, and it’s possible that the Red Devils will opt not to keep the player and perhaps go in a different direction.
“Still, it’s worth remembering that Amrabat has shown real quality in recent years and performed on the biggest stage with Morocco at the World Cup.”
Milan have been linked with the 27-year-old extensively over the past couple of years, including in the build-up to the January window amid the talk of Rade Krunic’s exit.
The other midfielders that the Rossoneri like are Renato Veiga of FC Basel and Walace of Udinese. The former is 20 and is seen as a promising talent, while the latter is 28 and knows Serie A well.
Would be a sturdier dam than Adli currently.
‘Dam of Rabat’ if you will
It would be interesting to see an all-Magrhebi midfield of Adli-Amrabat-Bennacer.
Ndidi at 0 is the best option
indidi is injury prone
Get Florentino for 45 mil
Florentino is too expensive 70ml milan can’t afford
Loan paid 2M with option 15M
Kessie replacement? great defense but less scoring ability
but that’s what we need bro. we need a DM. my 0.02, with Puli, Reijnders, more experienced Leao and Theo, we have better attacking options than when Kessie was around. What we dont have? a mid to cover our defense. Bennie is our most defensive mid and he has been basically out the whole season.
Pablo Maia and sofyan amrabat then we are done in midfield
Maignan
? tomori gabbia theo
Pablo Maia sofyan amrabat
Pulisic reijnders leao
Gyokeres
That’s the team i want
This player is a joke. 3 good games made him a player of 40m. Avoid by all means.
Exactly. Several other Moroccan players had good world cups and have sucked a big fat one since. Amrabat has been one of the worst players in the EPL this season. He’s garbage. Pobega is better!
Pls bring Casadei back to his native country from Chelsee. He should be good DM player
Should have signed Ampadu when we had the chance! Amrabat is an interesting player, he was never quite worth the hype that the superb World Cup gave him but was still a very good player. I suspect he still can be, and Manchester United always looked like it would be a terrible fit for him, but I don’t think he’s really going to be worth a huge investment for us at this stage.
Sandro will be back soon;)
