Tuttosport: One in one out – Milan’s January plan for the left-back role

AC Milan have some plans for the left-back position in January with a signing and a subsequent loan exit possible, a report claims.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Milan are interested in signing Juan Miranda of Real Betis and have not given up after trying to land him in the most recent summer transfer window.

Miranda is considered by Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio to be the ideal profile to allow Theo Hernández to breathe without having to adapt a right-footed player to the opposite side, as Alessandro Florenzi has been doing.

Miranda’s progress is constantly monitored by the Milan directors who are aware his deal with Betis runs out in June 2024 and that negotiations for a possible extension of the agreement are not moving forward.

As it stands, Betis will either sell Miranda in the winter for a discounted price or they will lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Relations between Milan and Betis are good (in the summer they also spoke to discuss the possible arrival of Alexis Saelaemaekers) which could facilitate the Miranda operation.

If Miranda were to join, the Rossoneri could send Davide Bartesaghi out on a dry loan in order to get more playing time to help his development, even if Stefano Pioli is happy with his growth.
