Sunday night’s defeat against Fiorentina means that AC Milan have gone into another international break with a dark cloud looming, but a report has claimed that Paulo Fonseca has the support of the management.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recalls how there were accusations that Fonseca did not have command of the dressing room and that he was beginning to crack after the penalty debacle in Florence and his post-match comments.
Technical director Geoffrey Moncada showed up at Milanello yesterday and had a close conversation with Fonseca in which he reiterated the trust of the management group. Everyone agrees on one thing: ‘situations of self-management and lack of respect towards the coach and team-mates will no longer be tolerated’.
A jolt is needed to turn around a season that doesn’t seem to want to take off, with fans and the Portuguese coach himself looking for the performance level of the derby to be repeated consistently.
However, given what was said to the coach yesterday, the agents of the free coaches can keep their smartphones in their pockets for the time being, also because Milan has no intention of changing manager, even if the next few games be decisive from this point of view.
The match against Udinese on Saturday 19th will already be a sort of acid test, given that three points are a must but they will face a side full of confidence after a good start. It will also be interesting to see how the fans at San Siro react, given the recent troubles.

Jurgen Klopp joins The Red Bull Group as new Global Head of Soccer, coordinating all the clubs including RB Leipzig, Salzburg and more.
Klopp will advise all the clubs on transfers/strategy from January 1, 2025.

As if Milan could afford Klopp anyway… Maybe if they build two or three stadiums they’ll be able to pay his salary. We can just hope that Moncada turned Paulo Fonseca into Don Carlo just by speaking to him.
Nah, Klopp is too much of a character and would only spike Gerry’s narcissitic disorder and fear of being overshadowed by an actually competent manager.
Klopp as a coach is unrealistic. He said he would not return to coaching for a loooong time. What Red Bull is doing in sports is pretty cool though.
If this was a menagement plan ,to bring fonseca to make problems with most expensive players to have a reason to sell them,then they definitely succeded,genius move by them ,now it will be fonseca or players,you can’t fix it the other way
