Tuttosport: Milan meet agent of Torino captain – why he is the No.1 target

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have already met Alessandro Buongiorno’s agent with a view to signing the Torino defender this summer, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan Press), Buongiorno is one of the players at the top of Milan’s wishlist.

He has a maturity and style that Milan appreciates and they think he can replace Simon Kjaer and be more important than the Dane has been in recent seasons.

A move for the Torino man will not be straightforward forward given there are many teams interested in signing him. Inter, Juventus and Napoli are the competition within Serie A.

Outside of Italy, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also expressed interest. For now, Buongiorno is only focused on ending the season with Torino in a Europa Conference League position.

That would be the perfect way for Buongiorno to leave the club where he has proved to be the perfect replacement for Gleison Bremer who left for Juventus.

He may have a chance to audition in front of Milan this weekend with the Rossoneri hosting Torino at San Siro on Saturday, but he is fighting to get back from an injury and may not recover in time for that match.

    1. Get both, Calafiori is a great utility option, can play CB, LB and Dm, would be extremely useful, as would Buongiorno

    2. Buongiorno is an international for our national team, having him progress is vital to us. He will most likely make the trip to the Euro’s so he’d be motivated to retain his spot, making the move to us will be vital for his career not just as an international but as a player. Acerbi is old, Buongiorno, Gatti and Mancini will be competing for that spot next to Bastoni.

      1. it’ll Bastoni, Acerbi & Scalvini,
Gabbia played better than Buongi, Gatti, Mancini & Calafiori so he deserve that spot, he’s long term Acerbi replacement (same characteristic)

    3. Also, Califiori has already missed 567 days through injury in his career since 2019, we already have Mattia Caldara who’s 30 and has barely even played for us since we bought him. Buongiorno has barely been injured over the past 10 years. So no to Califiori, we can’t deal with another player with ligament problems.
