Tuttosport: Milan players test negative for Covid ahead of Roma clash

By Isak Möller -

Training resumed at Milanello yesterday after a few days off during the Christmas holiday. All the players took a rapid Covid-19 test before starting the session as well as PCR tests, the results of which have arrived.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), all of the tests came back negative. This is very good news for Stefano Pioli as he already has enough absences to deal with. Ballo-Toure, Bennacer and Kessie, for example, are away on international duty.

There was more good news yesterday as Davide Calabria was back on the pitch after quite a long absence. He should be called up for the Roma game and the same can be said about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who missed the final game of 2021 as a precaution.

Hopefully, the upcoming tests will also come back negative as well. Milan bounced back with a win against Empoli and will be looking to continue on that path, starting 2022 off right.
