Tuttosport: Milan rekindle interest in midfielder who could leave Nottingham Forest

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the areas that AC Milan will look to address during the upcoming summer transfer window is the midfield, and a familiar name has resurfaced as a target.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) has a section with the following headline: ‘The Dominguez hypothesis is back in fashion’. The Rossoneri are looking for a defensive midfielder and there could be a flashback for Nico Dominguez.

The former Bologna player is now at Nottingham Forest, but the Rossoneri management scouted him and were linked with him for many weeks and months before Argentine decided to move to the Premier League.

However, his season in England has not gone to plan with Forest having been in a relegation battle all season, for this reason it is not excluded that he could decide to change teams again and perhaps return to Italy. The player even admitted he waited for Milan.

Milan have other leads for the midfield alive too such as Youssouf Fofana of Monaco, Renato Veiga of Basel and Sofyan Amrabat, who will return to Fiorentina after his loan spell at Manchester United comes to a conclusion.

Forest paid €10m plus €5m in bonuses to land Dominguez from Fiorentina, but it is not known if they would look to just recoup this amount or sell for a profit. Milan have done business with them before, namely the loan of Divock Origi.

  1. Pure gossip. The multiple reasons we decided to voluntarily ‘miss out’ on him last summer have become obvious this season.

  2. from bologna to eng not fiora..
and again the 2 fast comments.. like hell, ive been doing dishes just now

  3. I’m a Forest fan from England. I like Dominguez and I think he’s a good player, but not a great player. He is only the third choice defensive midfielder at Forest and he’s only used as a squad player. We expected more from him. Perhaps he could thrive at an alternative club that plays differently to Forest but that is something that no one can predict beforehand. And if he’s not good enough to be a regular first-team player for Forest then it is difficult to see how he could be good enough for a huge club like Milan who are aiming to compete in the Champion’s League.

  4. How about sign Khephren Thuram and Youssouf fofana instead this random guy that said to us no for a mediocre pl team

  5. Too bad he failed at noth forest while his previous team bologna will play CL next season . Skip , just sign fofana or renato veiga
